Since 2014, in collaboration with local partners (including Kiwi Energy), Wild Forests and Fauna, has hosted four Future Leaders Summits in the Madre de Dios region of Peru.

Future Leaders is a multi-year capacity-building program that provides local, aspiring, young professionals skills in sustainable business, innovation, and leadership. Programs are hosted in globally significant, endangered forests that have critical opportunities for conservation. The curriculum of the program is driven by four pillars that encourage sustainable business innovation: leadership, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and environmental citizenship.

This will be Kiwi Energy’s third consecutive year supporting the Future Leaders program, and the fifth and final program in Madre de Dios, Peru. The workshop will be in collaboration with McDaniel College’s Forest Online program with an emphasis on marketing.

This year, fifteen local young leaders and sixteen Forest Online students will be invited to the Las Piedras Amazon Center for five days and four nights. This year’s workshop challenge will be to develop media packages that support LPAC’s ecotourism and highlight their new main structure with solar panels. The focus of the event will be on teaching the art of storytelling, developing marketing skills, and the collection of compelling media.

“We’re proud to partner with such a respected organization. Their Future Leaders program is a great example of how we can leverage education to preserve our natural resources and shape the future of our planet.” – Richard Booth, President of Retail Operations, Kiwi Energy.
