The City After Climate Change
September 9th from 7:30pm-9pm (Rain date 9/10)
A discussion led by Vanessa Keith, New York-based architect, on her new book 2100: A Dystopian Utopia – The City After Climate Change.
Music for Plants
October 14th from 5-9 pm (Rain date 10/15)
Enjoy live performances by two artist groups from the collection of music made for the pleasure and benefit of plants inspired by Peter Coffin.
Macramé Plant Holders & Medicinal Plants
October 28th 1-3pm (Rain date 10/29)
Members of La Casita Verde will instruct participants on how to make a macramé plant holder, which they can either donate to help build La Casita Verde’s new medicinal vertical garden, or bring home.
Our Public Water: Tunnels and Tanks
September 30 1-3 pm (Rain date 10/1)
A speech by artist, Lize Mogel, analyzing how the rural Catskills and urban South Williamsburg are physically and politically connected by water, followed by a demonstration of La Casita Verde’s new rainwater catchment system.
Marathon Day
November 5th 10-4pm
Come celebrate the end of the season at mile 10 of the NYC Marathon route, La Casita Verde, and cheer the runners from the garden with special guests, The Silver Sirens, a cheerleading squad made up of senior citizens that champion healthcare issues in public performances.
